THE LONG ISLAND UNDERGROUND LEGENDS OF HIP HOP highlights pioneering, grassroots, and underground hip hop figures who laid the foundation of Long Island's suburban rap scene, including JVC Force, famous for the classic anthem “Strong Island”, MC Glamours, celebrated as the first famous hip-hop artist from Long Island, Archie Snowden, AKA MC Amazon’ A and director of the film and more. While the documentary centers on the grassroots underground scene, it frames the rich network of specific black suburban communities that shaped global hip-hop history. If you trace these specific towns, they birthed iconic pioneers who started in the exact same local circuits, such as Rakim, Public Enemy, Biz Markie and Director: Archie Snowden. Theater B
